Review.

I thought Chantelle used very good skill on using photo shop to edit and filter some of her vibrant photos with colorful patterns.

My favorite photo is the close up shot of the Superdry logo. I like the way you have used the plastic wrap filter.

I love your pictures! They show a range of angles that benefit each picture and I can see that you have thought about each picture and how it will look the best it can. The pets theme is good because it is to a high standard and shows a range of angles and editing skills.

The picture I like the most is the 'hole in the ceiling'. The reason why I like this picture is because main subject is clear and also the picture is detailed.

Review.

My favorite image of Chantelle's is the close up of the pencil case, I like this because it shows detail up close but then fades out. I also really enjoy looking at the animal photographs as I think they are of a high quality and are really interesting.

My Evaluation.

My Photos Project – Evaluation.

Theme One – Portrait – My Pets.
The main subject is my pets. I chose to do this as my project because my pets mean a lot to me, so I thought I would involve them in schoolwork as well as my personal life. The photos focus attention on the main subject because every single picture is of one of my pets.  This shows what the project is on.

On one my photos I used rule of thirds, I thought this made the image work as you can concentrate on different parts of the image.

I also used a filter on one of my images; I personally thought that the filter made the image look so much better in a way. The original image was just a plan old picture of my puppies, but adding the filter added a bit more interest into it.

On another one of images, I took the colour away completely and just had it as black and white. Even though I absolutely adore the colour of my dog I thought that the black and white would make it look so much more interesting.

I am very happy with all my images; I took time in taking them all, as I wanted to make sure that they were perfect. I did take some of them on my iPod Touch, as I didn’t have the camera on me, so I needed to edit some of them. Even though my images are really good, I still think I could of taken better photos by taking it even slower than I did already. If I had another chance I would re take all of the images to see if they turn out much better.

After posting all of my images on my blog, I asked pupils and my Media teacher to have a look at them and to tell me their opinion. Every single person thought that all of images were great; even though some were out of focus they all said that it was still a good effect. My teacher did ask if I could re take the images of my cat, but this was impossible as she was no longer with us anymore, he still thought the image was good but was unsure on the out of focus.

I only compared one of my images with a professional image. And it was the photo of my cat, I just typed in on Google images, ‘Professional Cat Images’, and I found one that looked very similar but it did have different markings than my own cat. Bu the way that the cat was laying was very similar which made me chose that image.

Theme Two – Concept – Close Ups.
The main images are close ups on objects.  I took these photographs because a page on Facebook ‘Family Days Tried And Tested’ inspired me. On this Facebook page, there is someone I know that does activities with her family. She inspired me because she takes a lot of close up photographs and I thought that I could produce something very similar with objects I found around my house.

The photos focus attention on the main subject because they are close ups on random objects I found around my house. This shows what the project is on.

On my photographs I used filters, on the one of my Super Dry laptop case, I used ‘Plastic Wrap’, this is because I was unsure on the focus so I thought adding a filter, would make it look more in focus and much better.
On the photograph of one of the smelly sets I took the colour away from it completely. I thought it would be a good idea to emphasise on the ‘S’. Doing this, you will be more focused on the bolder white.
And then finally on the image of a Disney gift box.  I used the filter ‘Dry Brush’ this was to enhance the cartoon part of the imaged and to hide the bits that were not completely in focus.

I am very happy with all of the photographs that I took. This is because I took photographs of my own object I had found in my bedroom. I think that if I have more time I could of taken much more interesting close up images. However, I am very happy with what I had produced.

When I had uploaded all of my photographs onto my blog, I asked my piers for their own opinion on them. All of their feedback was brilliant. They liked all of my images, this was because it was a close up theme and obviously everything was zoomed in on detail. So when looking at the images they could look at all the different details on the objects.

Theme Three – Event – Bid For A New School
The main subject is ‘Bid For A New School’. I thought I would go around the school and take my own photographs of the things around the school that are not so good. I thought this was a good idea. The photographs focus on the main subject because on every single photograph it shows why we need a new school. On a couple of the images I used the patch tool to patch different parts of the image up. This was a good idea because on one of the images the writing was inappropriate, so to cover this up I used the patch tool. I couldn’t put a before and after image because of what it was like before I edited it. I am very happy with the photographs because it shows exactly why we need a new school. I do think that some of the images could have been improved because they looked a bit boring, but that is because of the subject I chose. My piers think that my images are good because the main visual images are the damages of the school. On some of the images they didn’t even know that some of the damage was there, so they were surprised at some of the images, this made them like them.
